Music Publshing Glossary

The Copyright Royalty Board (CRB) is a group of three judges in the U.S. who are responsible for establishing the statutory royalty rates for compulsory mechanical licenses. The board regularly determines the statutory mechanical royalty rate, which is currently 9.1 cents per track or 1.75 cents per minute of playing time, whichever is greater, for physical and download track sales. For more information, please visit the website of the Copyright Royalty Board (www.crb.gov).
