A blanket license is a license that is granted by a rightsholder or their representative, which allows the use of their entire catalog for a predetermined period of time. For instance, digital service providers like Spotify sign blanket licenses with performing and mechanical rights organizations, while radio stations enter into agreements with performing rights organizations to broadcast their clients’ works.
