Reversion Clause

Music Publshing Glossary

Some publishing contracts have a clause that mentions the ownership of certain or all works present in the agreement. It states that the ownership will revert back to the songwriter after a specific period of time or if specific conditions are met. For instance, if the works are successfully placed on a major label release.
