Performance Royalties

Music Publshing Glossary

Performance royalties are payments made to songwriters, composers and publishers when their music is played publicly or broadcasted on the radio. These royalties are collected by organizations such as ASCAP in the U.S. and SACEM in France, which are known as performing rights organizations (PROs) or collective management organizations.
