Intellectual property includes any idea or creation that has commercial value. This can include symbols, names, images, and other forms of knowledge, whether or not they are copyrighted. There are several ways to protect intellectual property, including copyrights, patents, trademarks, and trade secret laws. For example, the Nike checkmark logo is protected by trademark law, while the secret recipe for Coca-Cola is protected by trade secrets law.
